WYLIX Handbuild Lowpro Timetrial Bike
WYLIX Custom Time Trial Bike – Handbuilt by Willem “Willy” Felix (Ex-Dutch National Team Mechanic)
We hereby offer an exceptionally unique WYLIX custom time trial bicycle, handbuilt by Willem “Willy” Felix, a renowned Dutch mechanic who worked at the highest level of track cycling throughout the 1970s and 1980s. During his career, Felix was a mechanic for the Dutch national track team, and collaborated with riders and technicians from the Russian national program as well.
In his private workshop, he produced a very limited number of custom frames under the name WYLIX, a contraction of his own first and last name. His builds are known for their precision, balanced geometry, and the use of high-end Columbus tubing, making them highly sought after by collectors of historic racing bicycles.
This particular frame represents a rare surviving example of Felix’s craftsmanship. Built from Columbus SLX Super Butted tubing and finished with premium period-correct components, it delivers a remarkably stiff, responsive and authentic time-trial experience.
Condition
As seen in the photos, the frame shows normal signs of age and cosmetic wear but remains in solid technical condition.
The wheels are historically correct for its era and setup:
a Wolber Discjet (tubular) rear wheel
a Mavic tubular front wheel with Allen key lock system
Note: The tubular tires will need replacing.
The original builder intentionally had the wheelset without decals, because he was not allowed to promote the brands publicly at the time, a small but fascinating detail that adds to the story of this machine.
This is a bicycle with real provenance, built by a man who prepared equipment for elite riders in multiple national programs and who left behind only a handful of handcrafted frames.

A Truly Rare Opportunity
Handbuilt WYLIX frames almost never appear on the market, and those with documented links to Willy Felix’s national-team period are exceptionally scarce. This machine represents a small but fascinating chapter in Dutch cycling history, a combination of craftsmanship, racing experience, and the ingenuity of a mechanic who built frames for elite riders long before the internet era documented such work.
For collectors or enthusiasts seeking an authentic, historically rich time-trial bicycle, this WYLIX is a rare and remarkable find.
