A rare set of vintage NJS track cogs with a direct link to Dutch track cycling history. This set originates from former KNWU national team mechanic Felix, who prepared and maintained equipment for elite Dutch track riders.
The blue paint was most likely applied to distinguish cogs between different riders, a practical solution commonly used within national teams to quickly identify race equipment during training sessions and competitions.
Part of the set features flattened teeth, a modification carried out on a lathe to reduce weight and potentially minimize rolling resistance, a known high-level track optimization from the pre-marginal-gains era.
